Erika Haws received the December 2021 Outstanding Senior Award in the Molecular and Cellular Biology Department for her research on Arabidopsis thaliana.

Christopher Nelson graduated just before the reality of the COVID-19 pandemic hit and began his job search in January of 2020.

Erik Lehmkuhl is the 2021 winner of the Department of Molecular and Cellular Biology’s Outstanding Graduate for Service Award.

Each spring, the MCB Department recognizes outstanding graduate students in three categories: Scholarship, Service, and Teaching. This year’s Outstanding Graduate Student in Teaching was awarded to Kathleen Lasick, a MCB PhD student in Dr. Andrew Paek’s lab.

For many students, winning scholarships, fellowships, and award money means the difference between continuing their college studies or leaving school to earn an income. Without exception, the financial help students receive is met with gratitude and relief. 

The Danny Brower Memorial Scholarship was established by the department of Molecular and Cellular Biology in the College of Science to honor the professional accomplishments of Danny Brower, Professor and scientist for over 25 years at the University of Arizona.
