Meet MCB! is an annual open house outreach event, bringing high school students from throughout Arizona into the Department of Molecular and Cellular Biology to see our scientific research in action. Students and their teachers tour MCB research labs, learning about their work on cancer, aging and neurodegenerative diseases. Students also receive information about applying to the University of Arizona and learn about the MCB major. Our goal is to showcase the excitement of UArizona Science and give high school students a glimpse of what life is like as an MCB major at the University of Arizona.
Many participants are students from Bioscience Career and Technical Education (CTE) courses, allowing them to see first-hand research applications of molecular lab techniques they learned about in class.
