BS in Molecular and Cellular Biology

This program offers a comprehensive course of study across a wide span of scientific inquiry. MCB majors study fundamental biological questions about gene and cell structure and function.

The BS in Molecular and Cellular Biology is for you if you...

  • are looking to meet the prerequisite requirements for most medical schools (many MCB majors are pre-med)
  • aim to understand the molecular workings of cells
  • are interested in active research with professors

Choose the Accelerated Master's Program (AMP) to earn both a Bachelor of Science degree and a Master of Science degree in MCB in a total of 5 years.

Coursework

Core courses:

  • Introductory Biology
  • Molecular Basis of Life
  • Molecular Genetics
  • Cell & Developmental Biology
  • Metabolic Biochemistry.

Sample plans are included with the three sub-plans. See complete course list. Whatever your interest, we encourage all students to undertake independent laboratory research to complement required coursework.
