Mary-Beth Roberts grew up loving science, but afraid of pursuing her interest. During her childhood in New Zealand, she developed a fear of math that haunted her even after completing high school.

Volleyball fans know Laura Larson for her impressive digs and school-record 136 appearances on the court. Larson brought the same focus and determination to her studies. She boasts another key stat—a 3.97 graduating GPA with a major in Molecular and Cellular Biology and minors in Biochemistry and Sports Management.

Matthew Knatz, Manager of Information Technology, was awarded the 2017 College of Science Award of Excellence for the Department of Molecular and Cellular Biology (MCB) at the Annual College of Science Staff Recognition Luncheon on April 18, 2017.

In my last year or so of undergrad, I took an elective called “Bioethics” with Professor Pimentel, which was an entire class on just that – the ethical and moral concerns and dilemmas within biology and the medical field.  I was absolutely enthralled.
