Jessica Erickson

Hometown: Tucson, Arizona 

Research Lab: I work in the Paek lab studying kinase regulation and cell signaling events relevant in various human diseases like Cancer and Alzheimer's Disease. My work is done in cell culture with MCF7 Breast Cancer cells!  

Clubs and other activities: I am the President of Colleges Against Cancer (CAC) at the University of Arizona. In this club we volunteer for the American Cancer Society through fundraising, advocacy, and educational efforts to help in the fight against cancer! My favorite thing to do in CAC is volunteer with the Candlelighter's of Southern Arizona, a local childhood cancer focused nonprofit organization. I am also a member of the Wildcat Running Club! 

My favorite part about being an ambassador is sharing my experience in MCB to prospective students and sharing all of the wonderful parts of our major! 

Some of my favorite MCB classes: MCB 325 (Cancer Biology) and MCB 305 (Cell and Developmental Biology. I love talking about both of these classes as they relate to my research interests and helped shape why I love MCB!
