Hometown: Las Vegas

Research Lab: Dr. Lisa Nagy’s lab in the MCB department where I work with red flour beetles and CRISPR to investigate putative enhancer regions within the even-skipped locus and investigate arthropod segmentation.

Clubs & Other Activities: I am the president of the Marine Awareness & Conservation Society, a resident assistant in the Colonia de la Paz dorm, and desk assistant in the Gila dorm. This past summer I attended the University of Arizona’s UROC-SRI research and graduate school prep program.

Favorite part of being an ambassador: Getting to watch future and newer students find excitement in the MCB major, a kind of spark when they realize they’re a student in STEM and an aspiring scientist!
