Abigail Keyes
Hometown: Atlanta, Georgia
Majors: MCB and Art History, minor: Biochemistry (minor)
Research Lab: I have worked in three labs: Dr. Carini Lab (anaerobic research), Dr. Buchan Lab (TDP-43 research), and a summer nanotechnology REU in Dr. Long's Lab (Vat Photopolymerization of all aromatic polyimides)
Clubs and other activities: I lead the Science is Fun and HOSA club. I also work at Oro Valley Hospital and volunteer at Amity Foundations. I tutor OCHEM and GenChem for the MCB department and I go dancing every week.
The best thing about being an ambassador: Getting to tell prospective students how awesome MCB is, and how helpful this degree is for future career goals.
Favorite classes: Any cancer bio class, any art history class (e.g. ARH316B or ARH423B), BIOC 384 and 385, ochem or gen chem classes, PSIO - pretty much will answer questions about anything.
Ask me about: what it is like working as a CNA or anything about Art History or Cancer.
