U of A alumnus Bob Schmitz elected into the National Academy of Sciences

Robert J. Schmitz, UGA Foundation Professor in Plant Sciences at the University of Georgia, Athens, was elected to be a member of The National Academy of Sciences in recognition of his distinguished and continuing achievements in original research. "Bob" Schmitz received his B.Sc. from the University of Arizona in 2002. His main research interest is determining how phenotypic variation is driven by natural and spontaneous genetic or epigenetic variation.
