On May 9, 2024, the Department of Cellular Biology (MCB) gathered to honor and celebrate the graduating class of 2024.

This year, 65 students earned their Bachelor of Science degrees, while six students were awarded Master of Science degrees, and four received their Doctor of Philosophy degrees.

These graduates' journey began in the fall of 2020, amidst the COVID pandemic's challenges.  The students graduating with their B.S. degrees, started their university journey, not on campus and interacting IRL with their peer students, their professors and advisors, but online, on zoom, in dorm rooms, their homes or other living situations. They spent their first two to three semesters online, having to wait a year to start attending classes in person. Despite the initial challenges, they transitioned to in-person classes and successfully completed their studies.

Our master's and PhD students found ways to continue their research in the labs, under new safety protocols to slow the spread of COVID. Onward they went, finding ways to keep their research moving forward.

To all our graduates: congratulations on your perseverance and your achievements! We are proud of each of you and look forward to hearing from you as you step into the next chapter of your life!
