Seminar Information
Our group studies the interface between the immune system and the world around us and within us, using a broad pallet of Systems Biology methods to study the complex molecular mechanisms of sensing and responding to pathogens, cancer neo-antigens, transplant allo-antigens, and auto-antigens. Our current work focuses on Valley Fever pathogenesis and the severe outcomes in autoimmune patients using multiple omics methods, novel computational tools, novel models, immunomodulation methods (e.g. vaccination, depletion approaches, pharmacology screens, and cellular therapeutics) and novel diagnostic modalities. We aim to develop the clinical research tools that are essential to reveal the mechanisms of Valley Fever pathogenesis and to alleviate the pain and suffering this fungal scourge causes patients in Arizona.
