MD PHD Student Julie Huynh Receives NIH F30 Fellowship
Congratulations to Julie Huynh, for being awarded NIH F30 fellowship funded through National Institute of General Medical Sciences (NIGMS).
Huynh is a MD/ PHD Candidate and is the Priciple Investigator (PI) on this grant. The title of her grant is "Role of FOXO Transcription Factor Dynamics in Determining Cell Fates".
Dr. Andrew Paek and Dr. Andrew Capaldi are her sponsors on this grant.
From the NIGMS Website, "NIGMS supports advanced predoctoral research fellows in fundamental biomedical science areas that are relevant to the NIGMS mission. Applicants for F30 fellowships must have matriculated into a dual-degree program no more than 48 months prior to the due date of the initial application. Typically, at the time of application students are expected to be in their third or fourth year of dual degree training and to have progressed to Ph.D. candidacy by the time of award. Applicants must also have identified a research sponsor and a dissertation project that must be in basic biomedical sciences relevant to the NIGMS mission, and includes a promising approach to the problem as well as strong training potential. The proposed mentored research training is expected to clearly enhance the individual’s potential to develop into a productive, independent physician-scientist or other clinician-scientist."
It's no surpise to us that Huynh was selected; Huynh was the Spring 2020 winner of the MCB Outstanding Graduate for Researchand; read more about Huynh and her reseach.
