Seminar Information
Chemokines are secreted molecules that orchestrate the chemotactic migration of leukocytes during the immune response. Cancer cells express various chemokine receptors and hijack the chemokine signaling mechanisms for tumor progression and metastasis. We have shown that Cxcl10 chemokine plays a significant role in metastatic progression of a breast cancer subset deficient in the ING4 tumor suppressor. The novel mechanism of Cxcl10 signaling that enable metastasis will be presented in the seminar.
