Anticipated graduation date: May 2022
Minor: Gender and Women's Studies Minor
Research PI: Dr. Daniela Zarnescu
Research Topic: Aging and stress is an unavoidable part of life, but how it affects our brains is less clear. I work with fruit flies as a model for aging and neurodegeneration in Dr. Zarnescu's Lab. We are interested in how stress resilience play a role in aging and cellular stress response both in healthy and diseased brains.
Why Are you an MCB Ambassador? I received a lot of support from my mentor in MCB as well as from our wonderful advisors in our department when I decided to major in MCB. I've learned a lot from working with many incredible people, navigating school, extracurriculars and lab work and feel that I can pass on some of that knowledge on to future MCB students!
What makes MCB great? The support and mentorship opportunities are wonderfully helpful. I also think we have an amazing set of faculties that are interested in their students' success!
What are your hobbies and interests? I do boxing and kickboxing whenever I have time to workout. I am also a novice DND player.
