Breast cancer is a leading cause of death in women, most of these deaths are the result of metastatic events which disseminate the primary tumor throughout the body. My research focus is centered on the understanding and prevention of these metastatic events. We are achieving this goal by studying the tumor specific changes in protein trafficking and signaling that promote a migratory phenotype and developing drugs that target these alterations.
What outreach or service activities are you involved in?
I have been involved with MCB science city as well as DNA day. Previously I have been a camp counselor for a STEM day camp for kids to learn and discover basic scientific principles and research methods.
What are your hobbies?
I love to be outside and explore the desert by hiking, camping, and mountain biking around Tucson.
