Matthew Knatz, Manager of Information Technology, was awarded the 2017 College of Science Award of Excellence for the Department of Molecular and Cellular Biology (MCB) at the Annual College of Science Staff Recognition Luncheon on April 18, 2017.
MCB Department Head Tricia Serio praised Matt’s efforts to increase efficiency within the department by taking a “leading role in ensuring that the confederation of the IT staff in the Department of Ecology and Environmental Biology (EEB), which are now co-located with the MCB IT staff in Life Sciences South, is a success, with the group working seamlessly to support both departments.”
Serio announced that “through Matt’s efforts, our capabilities in this area are among the top in the nation” and commended his “can-do attitude and willingness to go the extra mile to support our mission, professionalism, and collegiality.”
