International Travel Award (Doctoral)

MCB will begin supporting professional development for MCB doctoral students with the International Travel Award beginning Spring 2018. This award is intended to enable doctoral students to attend a scientific meeting/conference where they will present a poster or deliver an oral presentation. MCB will award up to $1,500 for travel costs. This award is for international travel only--there is a separate award for domestic travel.


Eligibility Criteria

  • Current BMCB Doctoral Student in an MCB lab

  • Must have completed preliminary exams/orals by travel start date

  • Must have an abstract accepted for presentation (poster or oral)

  • Cannot be on the NIH Training Grant

  • Support of PI for travel

Application Requirements

  • Notification of acceptance of abstract

  • Letter of Support: From PI of student's lab, noting if alternate funding is available

  • Budget: Justification of expenses up to $1,500 (transportation, lodging, per diem, etc.). Budget must comply with UA travel policies.

Submission Process/Deadline

Applications are due May 1.  Awardees will be selected by the MCB awards committee and will be notified by June 1.
